A snowboard contour refers to the specific profile of a snowboard and determines how the board rides and interacts with the rider and the snow. Furthermore the contour influences many different performance charactersitcs such as stability, maneuverability & float. Almost two decade ago our experieMENTAL division started a snowboard contour revolution with the introduction of the legendary Skate Banana model and Original Banana Technologie’s mild rocker between your feet combined with mild cambers to the tips and tails.

HYBRID C3 - CONTROL | PRECISION | POWER
very mild rocker & powerful camber

This is camber engineered for high performance snowboarding. Very mild rocker between your feet combined with powerful cambers to the tips and tails. Mild rocker balances pressure distribution tip to tail eliminating the “dead space” between your feet, maximizing edge hold, pop, power and precision with the benefit of a little extra float and carve when you need it.

THE ORIGINAL BANANA - EASY | JIBBY | FLOATY

In 2006 when snowboarders only knew ski mimicking full camber boards, Pete Saari and the Lib Tech ExperiMENTAL team invented a revolutionary concept of rocker between the feet that literally turned snowboarding upside down.

Banana Technology replaced camber with rocker between your feet.

When you stand on your board, pressure is applied inward to the edge area at and between your feet as your weight presses out the rocker. The Banana Technology flex pattern is slightly stiffened at the tip an tail to increase pop and stability on big landings. The end result is a board that is loose and catch-free, presses boxes, rails and jibs extremely well with the preset rocker, maintains pop with a stiffened tip and tail and turns easily on hardpack when the built in rocker is put on edge.

The built in curve makes the boards float naturally in powder switch and normal with a centered stance. A firm nose and tail prevent the board from folding in chunky conditions.

CAMBER TECHNOLOGY - TRADITIONAL CAMBER FOR MAXIMUM POWER AND CONTROL

LIB TECH Co-Founder Mike Olson brought directional camber to snowboarding in the early 80s as he pioneered design development beyond powder backcountry and into resort hard pack and ice functional and friendly geometries. In the mid and late 80s and through 90s we experimented with a huge variety of cambers on race boards, twin freestyle and directional all mountain shapes as snowboarding performance exploded. The exploration for perfection continues today with our riders and experiMENTAL division dialing in contours they love for different perspectives on great snowboarding and the ultimate dream board.
