I’m 220 and 6’4” and love me the Skunk Apes. That said I’m recovering from a major surgery this winter so I wanted something non HP, non mag, and more forgiving to keep me out of Redline and with a tighter side cut. This thing filled the bill. I’ve only got one day on it, no pow, but on dry packed pow with zero icy patches, I found redline no sweat. Mini charger. 159 is short for me, but it has a nice progressive flex from the shifted volume center out. My first thoughts were “it feels just like Indy 169’s on a pig”. It’s got a surfy skate vibe, hauls ass better than you’ll expect and is super quick when you need it to be. It also keeps me honest in terms of where my center is at that size and in reference to my height. At my weight, in pow, I suspect speed is my friend. it feels like it’ll be plenty buoyant with its setback and so long as your not in blower and super tight trees it should be good. Overall I’m digging it. For me, it’s best role is spring, summer Hood, warm weather board or for hot pow days. Small and nimble that can handle uncorking it if necessary. Lastly, the moment I got that board out of my box a long haired dirt bag lot dude freaked out at the top art. Street cred procured.
